We carried out a visual survey which revealed penetrating dampness to 2 front bedrooms and hallway, especially around windows. Once exposure work started true dry rot was evident within timber lintels, walls and ceiling joists. The main attributing problem was specifically the external part of the windows were rotted allowing water ingress for a long period of time.
We encountered many obstacles such as rooms were full of antique furniture which had to be very carefully moved from one room to another and be protected from any dust from exposure works and dry rot spores.
